Mr. William B. “Billy” Weldin, 78, of Tifton, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at his residence.
Due to the national emergency no decision on Mr. Weldin’s Memorial service will be made at this time.
Mr. Weldin was born February 20, 1942 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Grant R. Weldin and Rae Ariganello Weldin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and his adopted son, Frank Weldin. Mr. Weldin was co-owner of Turnex Plastics in Ashburn which sold raw plastics. He had lived in Tifton since the mid 1970’s. He was a member of the Tifton Lion’s Club for many years and held various offices. In his earlier years he was an avid golfer and managed Springhill Country Club. Mr. Billy enjoyed car racing and the Atlanta Braves. He loved his pick-up truck which he kept waxed and well kept.
Mr. Weldin is survived by his wife, Kristine Burroughs Weldin of Tifton, to whom he was married for twenty-seven years and who is a retired Hospice of Tift Area Nurse; three sons and daughter-in-law, William Weldin, Jr., and Laura of Lilburn, John Charles Weldin of Marietta and Grant Weldin of Biddeford, Maine; his daughter, Traci Gilpin of Marcus Hook, Penn.; three grandchildren, Cierra Weldin, Claire Weldin and Jake Weldin; one brother, John Clement Weldin of Palm Coast, Florida.
