William Lowell Hester

Mr. William Lowell Hester, 89, Chula, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Love officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Albritton Funeral Directors.

James Hester, Travis Irwin, Gabriel Irwin, Wyatt Irwin, Connor Hester, Levi Irwin will serve as pallbearers and Kaelyn Swain will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Mr. Hester was born February 29, 1932 in Irwin County to the late William Riley Hester and Seriena Elizabeth Busbin Hester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hulet H. Hester, Harvey Hester, James Freeman Hester and Charles M. Hester; his sisters, Flora Jean Russ and Flossie Bell Childs. Mr. Hester was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Chula. He drove a box truck for Hutchinson Moving Company carrying the U.S. Mail and was a cattle farmer. He loved traveling, fishing and spending time with his nieces and nephews all while working two jobs.

Mr. Hester is survived by his nieces, Betty Childs, Miriam Laird and Jane Walker along with many great nieces and nephews. He was the substitute Dad for Tonya Irwin, James Hester and Crystal Swain.
