Tifton, Georgia

Mr. Werner Windmoller, a beloved retired airline mechanic and avid tennis enthusiast, passed away peacefully at his residence in Tifton, Georgia, on January 17, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on January 11, 1937, in Westerkappeln, Germany, Mr. Windmoller's journey was one marked by dedication, love for family, and a passion for life.

After graduating high school, Mr. Windmoller embarked on a remarkable career as an airline mechanic, where he devoted thirty years of exceptional service to Eastern and Pan Am Airlines. His profession was not just a job but a testament to his commitment to precision and safety, qualities that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Windmoller cherished time spent in his yard, where he found solace in nature and a sense of accomplishment in nurturing his surroundings. He also had a profound love for travel, often seeking new adventures to experience. However, among his many interests, it was his passion for tennis that truly stood out. He reveled in the sport, finding joy in both the game and the camaraderie it fostered.

Mr. Windmoller greatest pride, however, lay in his family. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Barbara Anne O'Donnell Windmoller, of Tifton; his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and JaNay Windmoller of Tifton; and two grandchildren, Bill Windmoller of Kennesaw and Anna Windmoller of Tifton. He also leaves behind his dear sister and brother-in-law, Helga and Dieter Schubert of Germany, and sister-in-law, Ingrid Windmoller of Germany along with one niece and six nephews in Germany.

Mr. Windmoller took immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, particularly during their trips to the mountains, which provided cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilhelm Windmoller; his mother, Luisa Biemdick Windmoller; and his brother, Martin Windmoller. Each of these individuals played an integral role in shaping the man Mr. Windmoller became, and he carried their love and influence throughout his life.

Werner Windmoller's legacy is one of dedication, love, and the importance of family. He was of the Lutheran faith, but attended Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church.  He will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate to know him and will be remembered for the warmth he brought to their lives.

Albritton Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
