Walter Zane Chung

Tifton - Walter Zane Chung, 54, of Tifton passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Tifton on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. with Dr. Hugh Ward officiating.  Interment will be held at a later date.  The Chung family will receive friends on Friday evening following the memorial service in the church social hall.

Born August 21, 1961 in Fulton County, to W. Reginald Chung and LaVonne Simonson Chung, He was self employed in the home construction business. Zane was known for his generous, compassionate and humble spirit.  He was a true craftsman and perfectionist.   He was a 1979 graduate of Tift County High School, loved motorcycles, and riding his Harley.  His hobbies were building model airplanes, rockets, trucks and cars.  Zane enjoyed traveling to the mountains and beach, but most of all he enjoyed his time with his two sons, Hayden and Branden.  He loved classic rock and roll music and auto racing and he always had a pet name for everyone.  He loved his two German Shepherd dogs, Shabah and Baby Cynder, both of whom preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Whitney Katharine Baird Chung; two sons, Hayden Zane Chung and Branden Zachary Chung all of Tifton, three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Zoe Chung of Tifton, Zena and Gerry Born of Douglas, Kym and Brooks McCarty of Savannah, two brother and sisters- in - law; Zack and Lisa Chung of Tifton and Ken and Marty Chung of Columbus, his parents, Reginald and LaVonne Chung of Tifton, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in - lieu of flowers donations be made to First United Methodist Church Preschool Department, 107 West 12th St. Tifton, GA. 31794 or Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 747, Tifton, GA. 31793.
