Thomas Sidney “Sid” Renfroe, III, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away on April 22, 2024. He was a respected individual who touched the lives of many.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. Craig Nalls officiating and where he will be buried by his Dad. No formal visitation will be held.
Terry Stephens, Mike Beaumont, Matt Renfroe, Alex Renfroe, Neal Johnson, Lee Renfroe, Michael Renfroe and Jake Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of GoFroe, along with Randy Chambers and Brette Johnson.
Sid was a dedicated professional who had a deep passion for golf course management. He previously served as a superintendent at multiple golf courses in Georgia and was currently employed as a Fiber- Optic technician at GoFroe. His commitment to his work was commendable, and he left a lasting impact on those he worked with.
In his personal life, Sid was known for his love of music and his unwavering support for the Auburn Tigers. He enjoyed listening to music in his free time and cheering on his favorite college football team.
Born on October 14, 1966, in Tifton, Georgia, Sid was a 1984 graduate of Tift County High School. He furthered his education by earning a degree in Turf Grass Management from ABAC.
Those who knew Sid described him as a loving father and a true friend to all. He had a caring nature and would always go out of his way to help those in need. His generosity knew no bounds, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Sid is survived by his mother, Patricia T. Johnson; his children, Sydney St. Clair (Steven), Lainey Grace Renfroe; his brother, Matt Renfroe (April); his step-sister, Brette Johnson; his step brother, Neal Johnson; his nephews, Jake Johnson (Lyndsey), Alex Renfroe (Emily), and their son John Thomas Renfroe; his uncle, Charles Renfroe; his aunts, Debbie Groves (John), and Judy Thames; as well as his beloved companion, Tina Garrick.
He is preceded in death by his father, T. Sidney Renfroe, Jr.; step-father Dr. Paul O. Johnson; uncle Larry Thames; paternal grandfather T. S. Renfroe Sr.; paternal grandmother Elizabeth Whittle Renfroe; and maternal grandparents Lois and Ed Hintermeier.
