Silas Randolph Spradley

Tifton, Ga.

Mr. Silas Randolph Spradley, 88, of Tifton passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Cypress Pond Assisted Living Center.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Salone Green officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 PM before the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Clarence Lewis, Nathan Spradley, Steve Spradley, Corbitt Dunn, Shane Fountain, Derrell Spikes, Damon Spikes and Alonzo Henry will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Spradley was born February 15, 1931 in Tift County to the late James Cecil Spradley, Sr., and Ellen Willis Spradley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years Mary Frances Paul Spradley who died April 28, 2018; his grandson Eric Christopher Steedley and his brother James Spradley. Mr. Spradley was a member of Carpenter Road Church of God. He was a retired pipe fitter with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #72.  He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War and had lived in Tifton most of his life. Mr. Spradley was an Elder and very active in his church. He and his two brothers, N. C. and James organized and built Carpenter Road Church of God and N. C. was the first pastor. He loved the children of the church and was quick to offer them candy each Sunday. He loved his Lord and his family. Mr. Spradley was a patriot and proud of his military service in Korea. Each year he would begin in August with a beautiful display of Christmas lights. He was a hard worker and enjoyed chopping wood and fishing.

Mr. Spradley is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Tim Steedley of Tifton; his grandson and grand daughter-in-law Randy and Jennifer Steedley of Valdosta; his great grandchildren, Sage Steedley, Reese Steedley and Jack Steedley; one brother and sister-in-law Rev. N. C. and Betty Spradley of Tifton; many nieces and nephews.
