Shirley Madeleine Ball

Miss Shirley Madeleine Ball, 73, of Tifton passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church with Father Peter Oyenugba officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 12: 30 to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

Miss Ball was born February 8, 1948 in Macon, Georgia to the late Willie Paul Ball and Elaine Cret Ball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd Paul Ball and Allen Darrell Ball, and her sister, Karen Lynn Ball. Miss Ball was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church in Tifton.  She was retired from the Cook County Board of Education as a social worker and visiting teacher after twenty years. Miss Shirley was born in Macon, spent her early childhood in Moultrie and had lived in Tifton for thirty-six years. She was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia. She was also a retired foster care supervisor for the State of Florida. Miss Ball was always willing to help those in need and the less fortunate.

Miss Ball is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Joshua Moore of Tifton; one son Paul Mials, Jr. of Tifton; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Rena Ball of Leesburg. She was also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to a favorite charity.
