Linda’s career spanned twenty-four years at Shaw Industries where she worked as a dedicated machine operator. Her commitment to her work was evident in her strong work ethic and attention to detail. She retired from Shaw Industries with a sense of accomplishment and pride.
Above all else, Linda cherished her family. She was a loving mother to her daughters and son-in-law, Wanda and Thomas Frye and Donna Nobles. Linda's children meant the world to her, and she always made sure they felt loved and supported.
Linda’s pride and joy were undoubtedly her grandchildren. Kyle Hall, Kathleen Whiddon, Logan Landers, Tessa Outlaw, and Brooke Bell brought boundless happiness into her life. Their laughter filled her heart with joy. Linda adored spending quality time with each grandchild, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Family was central to Linda's life; she had a special place in the hearts of not only her children and grandchildren, but also in the lives of five great-grandchildren: Millie Hall, Matthew Hall, Lyndsey Landers, Jaxton Brown, and Amelia Landers. Her love embraced each generation with tenderness and affection.
Linda will also be dearly missed by all who knew her as "Mama." Her warm smile brightened the room wherever she went and brought comfort to those around her during difficult times. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Outside of family life and work, Linda enjoyed pursuing various hobbies and interests. Dancing and listening to music were activities that brought her great joy and allowed her to express herself. She also found relaxation and mental stimulation in working on puzzle books, enjoying gameshows, watching baseball, participating in bowling leagues, and attending Omega Baptist Church.
Food was another passion of Linda's life. She particularly loved Mexican cuisine and relished the opportunity to savor its flavorful dishes. Sharing a meal with loved ones was an essential way for Linda to connect with others and create lasting memories.
While we mourn the loss of Linda, we find solace in the memories she leaves behind. Her legacy as a devoted wife to her late husband Ralph Thompson will live on through the love they shared. Linda was also preceded in death by her loving parents John W. Turner and Sarah White, her two nieces, Suzie Stilwell and Jan Stephenson.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her brother Larry Turner of Mobile, Alabama; her sisters, Mary Gentry of Adel and best friend and sister, Frances Stilwell of Sycamore who she shopped, played bingo and shared a home with for many years.
