Tifton - Mrs. Ruth Uldine Copenhaver Smith, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2018, in Tifton, Georgia where she had resided for the past nine years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. - 2:30 P.M. before the service. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery.
She was born November 24, 1929, in Sparks, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Albert Marion and Lena Pearl Bailes Copenhaver.
Mrs. Smith graduated from Nicholas County High School, Summersville, West Virginia. She was a graduate of Martz Beauty School in Huntington, West Virginia. She was a retired employee of the Austintown School District in Austintown, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, LeRoy Smith; two brothers: John Allen and Lewis Copenhaver; four sisters: Louise Swager, Marie Humphries, Maxine Piacentini and Maurine Rose.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law; Xilpha (Steven) Reimer of Chester, Virginia, Marian (Lee)Wilcox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son and daughter- in- law, Roy (Denise) Smith of Tifton, Georgia, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister and brother-in-law, Lenora (Hal) Kain and one brother-in-law Rene (Louise) Piacentini.
