Russell Harrell, Jr.

Mr. Russell Harrell, Jr., 83, of Tifton, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Palemon Gaskin Nursing Home in Ocilla.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2023 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Chaplain Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jessie Harrell, Casey Harrell, Mikey Harrell, John Williams, Daniel McMillian and Nicholas Harrell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Harrell, Blade Harrell and Seth Harrell.

Mr. Harrell was born May 16, 1939 in Turner County to the late Elisha Harrell and Ethel Roberts Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jenette Sims Harrell who died June 6, 2022, his daughter, Barbara Lanette Williams, his brother, Millard Lee Harrell and his sisters, Mildred Harrell Walker and Lillian Harrell Hales. Mr. Harrell was a farmer who loved to hunt, fish and make bird houses.  He enjoyed watching Nascar, westerns and wrestling on TV.

Mr. Harrell is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Teresa Harrell of Nashville and Michael and Yavette Harrell of Brookfield; his daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and Kenneth Rasnick of Mims, FL; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
