Royce Earl Cromer

Mr. Royce Earl Cromer of Sycamore, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 21, 2019, with Rev. Larry Layfield and Rev. Aaron Frasier officiating.  The burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, January 20, 2019, at Albritton Funeral Directors from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Zach Cromer, Justin Roberson, Logan Blackmon, Carlos Trujillo, Mike Walker and Greg Blackmon will serve as pallbearers.

He was born, July 18, 1944, in Tift County.  He was the son of the late James Presley Cromer and Margaret LeSeur Cromer. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Carolyn Ann Thompson Cromer who died July 30, 2016 and his brother Kenneth Cromer.

Mr. Cromer lived all his life in Turner County as a farmer who loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He also loved to read and enjoyed the company of his dogs.  Mr. Cromer loved his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Sidney and Leslie Cromer of Tifton, Chris and Jana Cromer of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Greg Blackmon of Cantonment, Fla., and Teresa and Mike Walker of Tifton; His grandchildren are Justin Roberson (Brittany),  Summer Cromer (Robbie), Lacey and Blake Jones, Brittney and  Darren Harrison, Zach and Molly Cromer, Kaleigh Blackmon, Amber and Lawton Cooper, Abby Cromer, Marianne Walker, Logan Blackmon, Kendall Blackmon, and Raylee Walker.  Great grandchildren are Colton Jones, Perry Jones, Lexie Lane, Rylee Roberson, Dallas Cromer and Charley Cooper, one sister and brother-in-law; Linda and Raymond Bankston of Locust Grove, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Larry and Sue Cromer of Tifton, Dennis and Lila Cromer of Crawfordville, FL and one sister-in-law; Margie Cromer of Ashburn.

The family would like to thank his special caregivers Katrina Hurley and the staff of Hospice of Tift Area. Flowers will be accepted or you may make donations to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Building Fund, 293 Mt. Zion Church Rd. Chula, Ga. 31733 or Hospice of Tift Area P.O. Box 747, Tifton, Ga. 31793.
