Ross Andrew Echols, 25, of Tifton, passed away on September 20, 2020 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in Oakridge Cemetery with Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Memories will be shared by Anna Greer. Friends and family are welcome to attend the graveside service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, September 24, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. in a drive by visitation at the funeral home. Please enter the funeral home going North on Tift Avenue at the first entrance and circle to the back of the building where you will be directed to drive by the family. They have asked that NO ONE exit their car but to drive by and speak. You will be able to sign the register book. Strict social distancing and masks will be encouraged.

Pallbearers will be Nick Carter, Anna Greer, Tate Greer, Cayden Echols, Justin Myers and Sam Wright.

Ross was born October 21, 1994 in Tift County to Frank Echols and Joy Greer Echols of Lenox. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James E. and Mollie Jo Greer and Jimmy Echols. Ross attended First Baptist Church of Tifton and was a graduate of Berrien County High School in 2013. He had lived in Tifton, Amelia Island and Lenox during his life. Ross also attended Tift Area Academy and Fernandina Beach Schools. While at Tift Area Academy, beginning at four years old he sang the National Anthem during many sporting events.  He enjoyed video games, fishing and shooting skeet. Ross enjoyed coaching his niece and nephews in soccer, tee-ball and softball. He grew up enjoying baseball, basketball and soccer. During his teenage years he worked at Omni Plantation on Amelia Island. He enjoyed his time working with Lone Mountain Truck Leasing and Truck Pro. During his illness his faith in his Lord never wavered. He was an animal lover and his biggest joy in life was his family and his German Shepard Bella “Girlsie” that also belonged to his fiancé Kasey.

In addition to his parents, Ross is survived by his brothers and sister-in-law, Greer and Cassey Echols of Lenox and Jacob Echols of Tallahassee; his fiancé Kasey Barnes of Lenox; his paternal grandmother, Eloise Purvis Echols of Sparks; one niece, Hadley Echols, two nephews, Cayden Echols, Colson Echols; his uncle and aunt, Jim and Caren Greer of Tifton and cousins, Anna and Tate Greer.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Tifton – Tift County Animal Shelter, 278 Hwy 125 South, Tifton, Ga. 31794.
