Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” Veston Burns, 78 of Enigma, died Saturday, January 02, 2021 at his home.
A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Turner Church Cemetery in Enigma where he will be interred next to his wife, Reba Burns. Mr. Guy Haynes will officiate. Due to Covid restrictions there will not be a public visitation. Social distancing and masks will be required at the graveside.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Hughes, Eric Hughes, Raymond Barnes, Anthony Barnes, Danny White, and Jakey Goddard
He was born in Tift County on August 10, 1943 to the late Veston Burns and Gertrude Trowley Burns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Laverne Palmer Burns of fifty-seven years at her death. She died September 25, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his son Raymond Burns and his sister, Ellie Hancock.
Mr. Burns loved his truck driving job for Grist Trucking, running Burns Nursey and fishing. He was an outstanding Father who loved children and animals and he was one of the best ole timey moonshiners.
His survivors include his two sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Denise Burns and Monty Burns of Enigma, three grandchildren, Tina and Josh Boyd, Kacey Burns, and Jamie Parkerson Burns, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and his sister, Betty Ruth Griner.
