Richard Altman

Richard Altman, 77, of Ocilla passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Irwin County Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at True Life Restoration Center, 801 N. Irwin Avenue, Ocilla, Georgia with Dr. Johnny Edwards officiating. A Eulogy will be given by his son, Ricky Joe Altman. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Mr. Altman was born December 29, 1941 in Jeff Davis County to the late Thomas Leroy Altman and Ernestine Herndon Altman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Richardson and his brother, Tommy Lee Altman. Mr. Altman was of Christian Faith and Sales Manager for Spectrum Group. He was a Veteran of the Navy. He grew up on a farm in Baxley. He was manager of Harvey’s in Tifton during the 1960’s. Mr. Altman traveled the world as a sales manager. He was an awesome gardener, fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Altman is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Joe and Deanna Altman of Ocilla; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Rodney Ricketts of Tifton; thirteen grandchildren, Dustin Merritt, Heather Gray, Lindsey Badillo, Jami Howard, Jordan Altman, Sierra Altman, Jacob Williams, Meagan Altman, Richard “Joseph” Altman, Taylor Altman, Luke Sellars, Ashley Richardson and Haley Richardson; fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Altman of Tifton and Marlin Altman of Baxley.
