Raymond Dennis Sirmans

Raymond Dennis Sirmans, 85, of Tifton, passed away at his residence on May 20, 2024. 

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:00A.M. with Rev. Steve Davis officiating at Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors being rendered. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22,2024 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.

He was born in Homerville, Georgia on October 11, 1938, to his late parents Charlie Raymond Sirmans and Rhoda Pearl Connell Sirmans.
 
Throughout his life, Mr. Sirmans dedication shone brightly in all that he pursued. He dedicated fifty-nine years of service to J. H. Harvey Company supermarkets as a produce manager before retiring and he was a distinguished veteran of the United States Army. His commitment and work ethic were truly admirable.
 
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Sirmans found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished moments spent browsing through flea markets, antique stores, and trading gold, silver and guns.  However, nothing brought him more excitement than talking to people, He never met a stranger.
 
Mr. Sirmans was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lutrelle Heard Sirmans, who passed away on June 28, 2023. He was also predeceased by his two brothers J R. Sirmans and Donald W. Sirmans along with his sister Mary Kate Sirmans.
 
He is survived by his step children Debra Ann Hill of Tifton and Dennis and Laurie Swafford of Griffin; his grandchildren Emily Smith, Bridget Joiner, Chris and Kesha Dudley, Tiffany and Donnie Brooks, Ashley Swafford, Cameron Cox, Brice Swafford, and Creig Swafford; fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as four great-great-grandchildren, his wife’s brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Glenda Heard, brother-in-law, Jerome Houle and many nieces an nephews. 
 
Mr. Sirmans will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of dedication to family, work, country, and faith will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
