Perry Samuel Key

Tifton - Mr. Perry Samuel Key, 67, of Tifton passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 surrounded by his family.

A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Bruce Roberts officiating.  A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4:30 - 6:30 before the service on Tuesday evening.

He was born September 15, 1950 in Taylor county to the late Hulus Edgar Key, Sr. and Rachel McAllister Key.  Along with his parents, Perry was reunited with his beloved brother Hulus Edgar Key, Jr. who died in 1969 in Vietnam, his granddaughter Leah Smith and his brother-in-law Shannon Ewing.

Mr. Key was a self-employed appraiser and the owner of Key Appraisals. He was a proud 1968 graduate of Tift County High School and a graduate of ABAC. Before starting his appraisal company, he was employed with the Ga. Department of Transportation for many years. One of his many talents and passions was music.  He was a gifted musician who played the keyboard, guitar and was a member of one of Georgia’s first garage bands, The Phantoms. The band was the first to play at the “The Woods” in Tifton and “The Bowl” in Moultrie. He was a founding member of New Covenant Church in Tifton where he became a gifted worship leader.  He loved his family and his savior, Jesus. Perry enjoyed coaching his children's sports teams and he loved playing golf with his Dad. He shared his passion for the Lord through the prison ministry and other outreach ministries.

Survivors are his wife Kim Brown Key of Tifton, two daughters and son-in-law Traci Fletcher Duguid and her husband, Brett of Tifton, and Sandi Key of Knoxville, TN, five sons and three daughters in law, Seth Key of Tifton, Bryan Key of Tifton, Chip and Emily Vowell of Knoxville, TN, Ryan and Ashley Vowell of Tifton and Austin and Lindsay Vowell of Tifton.  He was blessed with twelve wonderful grandchildren and another on the way, Hannah, Madison, Halen, Rhylie, Cayla, Gracie, Sam, Ryley, Charlie, Leyton, Waylon, and Wyatt. He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law Becky and Hoyt Vance of Tifton, two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Melody McMillan and her husband Tim of Braselton, Lori Ewing of Dacula and brother-in-law Tom Brown and his wife Michelle of Biloxi, MS along with many nieces and nephews, and life long friends. Perry was a man of honor and integrity and was loved by many and will surely be missed.
