Peggy Jean (Parks) Evans

Mrs. Peggy Jean Parks Evans, 89, of TyTy passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 18, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of TyTy with Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Interment will follow in First Baptist Church of TyTy Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the church before the service.

Josh Marteen, Buck Bradshaw, Jason Evans, Todd Batten, Ethan Bradshaw and Evan Bradshaw will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Evans was born December 24, 1931 in Tift County to the late Earl Cook Parks and Era Eugenia Tison Parks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Ann “Julie” Stidham; two sisters, Lillian Roddenberry and Erline Taylor and three brothers, Bill Parks, Wallace Parks and Julian Parks. Mrs. Evans was a member of First Baptist Church of TyTy and was a 1948 graduate of Tifton High School. She was a former part-time bookkeeper with Dixie Turf Farms and part-time clerk with the postal system. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a wonderful homemaker.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, John Rufus “Bunchie” Evans of TyTy; her son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Rhonda Evans of Omega; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Derry Hewett of TyTy; her grandchildren, Suzanne and Buck Bradshaw, Sarah and Josh Marteen, Jason and Amanda Evans, Justin Evans, Heather Hewett, Cari and Dusty Gibson and Miga and Todd Batten; eight great grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to Katlyn with Regency Southern Care, Linda Gray and staff and Kerrie Rimes, special care giver for the care of Mrs. Evans.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be sent to Regency Southern Care Hospice, 143 US Hwy 319 South Suite 1, Moultrie, Ga. 31768.
