Ms. Peggy Tona Baldree Cardona, 75, of Enigma passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Enigma Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Pettine officiating. Interment will follow in Enigma City Cemetery with Rebecca King officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Jamie Powers, Bobby Manders, Ben Barrentine, David Jernigan, Andrew Swain, David Cardona, Chris Ball and Prudencio Hernandez will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. Cardona was born May 21, 1944 in Tift County to the late Sylvester Baldree and Minnie Sizemore Baldree. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Martha Elizabeth Baldree Anderson and her two brothers William “Bill” H. Baldree and Aaron S. Baldree. Ms. Cardona was a member of Enigma Baptist Church for many years where she was very active and enjoyed singing. She was a retired self-employed cosmetologist and owner of The Outward Look Salon in Tifton. She lived in Enigma most of her life and was a 1962 graduate of Berrien County High School. Ms. Cardona loved her Lord Jesus Christ and her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader and a very compassionate woman always willing to help others. She has been strengthened redeemed, and set free as an heir to the Kingdom of God.
Ms. Cardona is survived by her daughter Sarah Suggs of Maryville, TN.; her son and daughter-in-law Richard and Lisa Eshleman of Enigma; five grandchildren Amanda Willis, Ryan and Toni Eshleman, Tyler Eshleman, Lydia Suggs, and Bailey Suggs; three great grandchildren Chloee Willis, Rylee Willis and Lillie Eshleman. She cherished all of her nieces and nephews and shared a special bond with her great niece, Marisa Hernandez.
