Nell Rose (Solomon) Nugent

Alapaha - Mrs. Nell Rose Solomon Nugent, 75, of Alapaha died Monday, February 20, 2017, at her residence.

Her funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Alapaha at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday February 23rd with Father Justin Ferguson officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church before the service from 9:00 A.M. - 10:45 A.M. Her sons will serve as her pallbearers.

Mrs. Nugent was born November 22, 1941 to the late Eston M. Solomon and Rachel Griffin Solomon in Berrien County. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son James Barney Nugent, grandchildren Chad and Brandon Nugent and Sarah Davis, one sister Doris Stone, four brothers, Talmadge, Tillman, Charles, and Harold Solomon, and by her husband of fifty two years, Herman Joseph Nugent, Sr. who died November 7, 2010.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a devout Catholic and very active in her church. One of her favorite hobbies was gardening.

Survivors are her eleven children, Rose Spurlock (Dick) of Ocilla, Regina Nugent Clark "Jeannie" of Sasser, Sheila Hudson (Mike) of Ocilla, Herman Joseph "Joe" Nugent, Jr. (Tracy) of Alapaha, Angie Jordan (Steven) of Nashville, Rachel Maureen Pritchett (Robert) of Tifton, Wilma Elizabeth Glausier (Derrick) of Alapaha, John Wayne Nugent (Reagan) of Alapaha, Patricia "Trisha" Mathis (Bill) of Alapaha, Jack Nugent of Alapaha and Jason Paul Nugent (Mary) of Alapaha, forty one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
