Nancy Henderson Hawkins, 69, of Omega, transitioned to be with the Lord on October 10, 2024, at her residence. Born on December 4, 1954, in Headland, Alabama, Nancy enriched the lives of many during her time on earth.
She was married to Donnie Milton Hawkins for 32 cherished years. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Jeanine Henderson and two brothers, Steve and Johnny Henderson.
She leaves behind a legacy through her beloved children: Leah and Jason Slimp, Christi Bryant, John and Aileen Cason, Jason Hawkins, Haley Hawkins. Nancy was a proud grandmother to Chasity Cason, Rylee Bryant, Cason Johnston, Bentley Bryant, Aria Cason, Neelia Lynn, Jada Lynn, Toni Lynn, Hagan Slimp, Hudson Slimp, Ethan Bryant, and Ryan and Kaylee Bryant, as well as two great-grandchildren. All her family brought her immeasurable joy.
Nancy dedicated her life to her career as the owner of Yankee Clipper Barber Shop, where she spent over 30 years as a hairdresser. Throughout this time, she formed meaningful relationships with her clients and nurtured an environment of care among her coworkers.
Her vibrant personality will be missed by all who knew her. Nancy was noted for her sense of humor, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. She was known for her famous sugar cookies at Christmas and found joy in making crafts with her husband, painting, sewing, baking, and attending family gatherings. Nancy had a special affinity for rabbit figurines, tended lovingly to her flower garden, and cherished moments spent at the beach. She appreciated the beauty of butterflies and sunsets, and often signed her notes with a heart, reflecting the love she shared.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Mary Cooper, LeAnne McAlphin, Angie Smith, Carlinda Young, and the staff at Abide Home Health Care for their compassionate support during this time.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Omega Cemetery, located at Cemetery Road, Omega, Georgia.
Nancy will forever be remembered as our sweet angel, a beacon of light and love whose spirit will continue to shine bright in the hearts of her family and friends.
