Mrs. Nancy Martin Cato, 80, of Fitzgerald died on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA as the result of an automobile accident.
Her graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at Albritton Funeral Directors from 10:00 – 10:30A.M.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Nancy was born in Monroe County, Mississippi on January 27, 1943, to the late George Mancey Martin and Ludie Bell Maxey Martin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louis Boyd Cato, two sisters and three brothers.
She was a selfless homemaker, who loved to bake cakes and she always made herself available to care for and help others. Her children described her as a God-fearing Christian woman, who loved everyone unconditionally and never met a stranger. Mrs. Nancy loved traveling and staying on the go. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a huge part of her life.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Randy Long of Fitzgerald and Virginia and Jeremiah Johnson of Jacksonville, FL two sons and one daughter-in-law, Floyd Miles and Ben and Donna Miles all of Alabama, one brother, David Martin and one sister, Sherry Joiner all of Fitzgerald, along with eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Nancy was always considered the peace maker of her loving family.
