Monroe Felton Carr

Mr. Monroe Felton Carr, of Newnan, formerly of Tifton, passed away at his residence on April 8, 2017.  He was born in Irwin County to the late Jackson and Artie Carr.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Carr is preceded in death by his brothers Dalton Carr and J.B. Carr.  Mr. Carr served his country with honor in the United States Army and was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Newnan.

Mr. Carr is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janie Wheeler Carr; his sons, Steven Monroe and Stacey Carr of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Mark Felton and Debbie Carr of Auburndale, Florida; his daughter, Sherry and Devin South of Newnan; his brother, Larry and Kay Carr of Tifton, and his sisters, Joyce Bryant of Norman Park, Georgia and Janice and Morris Luke of The Villages, Florida; his sister-in-law, Marthalyn Carr of Tifton; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

​The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:30 pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be at 3:00pm following the visitation with Brent Mayes officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
