Mildred Louise Lindsey Smith, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother sister, and friend passed away on August 3, 2024, at her residence in Enigma, Georgia.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Church, 138 Norris Street, Enigma, Ga. 31749.
She was born on April 7, 1948, in Ocilla, Georgia, Irwin County to the late James Lindsey and Flonnie Knowles Lindsey. Along with her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Smith, and her brothers Johnny Lindsey and David Lindsey.Mildred led a fulfilling life dedicated to helping others.
She found immense joy and satisfaction in her work as a drug alcohol counselor and a licensed beautician in Florida before relocating to Georgia in the 1990's. Her family's move to was driven by her unwavering commitment to caring for her parents.
Outside of her professional life, Mildred had a passion for working in her yards. However, her true delight came from spending precious moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love and warmth will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Before she became ill, she enjoyed attending Mt. Zion Church in Enigma.
She is survived by her loving children: Her son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Annie Smith of Enigma, and her daughter, Terri Smith of Lakeland, Florida; her brother Jack Lindsey of Douglas; and her sister Joyce Franklin of Enigma.
The legacy Mildred leaves behind is one of compassion, dedication, and boundless love for her family. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were touched by her gentle spirit.
