Mildred (McMillan) Braswell

Mrs. Mildred McMillan Braswell, formerly of Tifton, 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lyons, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday October 5, 2019 in the Chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Dennis McMillan officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Mrs. Braswell’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

Born November 12, 1927 in Berrien County to the late Elgin L and Lucy Stone McMillan, Mrs. Braswell was also preceded in death by her husband, L. A. Braswell to whom she was married for sixty-five years at his death on March 1, 2011; her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Andy McCall, two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Braswell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tifton. She was a seamstress for many people as well as the manager of “Dad and Lad’s” Clothing Store.  She also worked with JJ’s Men’s Shop, and was a traffic guard officer for several years. Mrs. Braswell was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and University of Georgia football. Keeping the family close and often spending time together were important to her. She enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles, arts and crafts, working in her yard and growing flowers.

Mrs. Braswell is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Noreen Braswell of Royston; Kenneth and Nancy Braswell of Cordele; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David Hart of Vidalia; grandchildren, Brandee and Scott Bickle, Kimberlee and Tim Blackwell, Brigette Braswell, Matthew and Rebecca Braswell, Jennifer and Doyle Dowdy, Mark Braswell; Kevin and Kristy McCall, Christopher and Jen McCall, Davey and Laura Hart, Julie and Steven Newsome and eight great-grandchildren,
