"Mike" David Michael Williford

Tifton -“Mike” David Michael Williford, of Tifton, died Saturday, May 28, 2016, at his residence. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on  Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Danny Ray officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pineview Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.at the funeral home.

Von McKee, Bucky Gartman, Edsel Schofill, Todd Schofill, Danny McClaren and Danny Rowland will serve as pallbearers.  The employees of D & M Service Company will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mike was born February 6, 1962, in Tifton, to the late Dorothy Virginia Evans Williford and Curtis Franklin Williford, Sr. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son Dallas Michael Williford in 2003.  He graduated from Ben-Irwin Technical School.  While in high school he was awarded The Distinguished Award for helping special needs children.  As a member of The Tifton Elk’s Lodge, he received The Elk of the year award for 2002-2003.  He loved to fix anything with a motor and he had numerous and different kinds collections around his home.  He was a devout protector of all animals.  He took in and found homes for stray animals of all kinds.    One of his family’s favorite stories is when he freed a young deer that was caught in a bobbed wire fence in a pond during the cold winter time.

Survivors include his wife of thirty three years, Ida Lorraine Knight Williford, daughter and son –in-law Candice and Ty Cummings, Tifton, sister, Jessica Lee Coburn, Tifton, two brothers and sister-in-law, Curtis Franklin “Frankie” Williford, Jr., Ocilla, James Carlo “Jim” Williford and Sue, Scotland, UK, his uncles, Larry Evans, Lenox, Billy Evans, Bradenton, FL, and aunt, Dale Evans, Tifton, and his mother-in- law, Shirley Ann Knight along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
