Michael "Shane" Riggins

Michael “Shane” Riggins, 45, of Tifton, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 8, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Danny Ray officiating.

Shane was born September 9, 1974 in Tift County to Harold William Riggins, Jr., and the late Louise Carlton Riggins. In addition to his Mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Barber. Shane was a self-employed painter and had lived most of his life in Tift County. He was of the Baptist Faith. As a young man, he was active in sports and played baseball and football. He loved to fish and was a fan of late model dirt track car racing. Shane loved animals and rescued and cared for many during his life.

In addition to his father, Shane is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Riggins of Tifton; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Ashley Riggins of Seattle, Washington, Tammy Riggins of Perry, Florida and Chelsey and Cody Casey of Hawkinsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Elaine Whittington of Chula; his step-mother, Amy Riggins of Tifton and special friend, Jennifer Pippin of Chula.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tift County Animal Shelter, 278 Georgia Hwy 125 S., Tifton, Ga. 31794.
