Merle Geneva (Griffin) Futch

Mrs. Merle Griffin Futch of Tifton died Friday, July 15, 2016 at Tift Regional Medical Center.  Funeral Services will be held Tuesday July 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with  Rev. Craig Barnette officiating. The interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Moore, Ryan Futch, Danny Griffin, Billy Griffin, Michael Hart, and Joey Futch.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Day Smith, Jerry Hobbs, Wes Shannon, Stacy Aultman, and Guy Haynes.

Mrs. Futch was born August 30, 1930 in Tatnall County, Glennville, Georgia to the late Burrill B. Griffin and Theresa Jones Griffin. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and her husband of sixty four years, Lattie Gene Futch, Sr. who died December 25, 2013.

Mrs. Futch had lived in Tifton since 1979, where she was previously employed by Sherwin Williams Paint Store. She was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church and she loved her church family. Her favorite activities were cooking, sewing, flower gardening and bird watching, but her happiest days were spent at home with her family, especially the grandchildren.

Her family included her two daughters and one son-in-law, Gayla and Rick Moore of Richmond Hill, GA and Joan Parker of Waynesville, NC, her two sons and daughters-in-law Lattie Gene, Jr. and Lisa Futch of Tifton and Keith and Theresa Futch of Eldorado;  one brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Nancy Griffin of Glennville, GA, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
