Mattiann (Eason) Hobby

Mrs. Mattiann Eason Hobby, 81, of Tifton passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022, Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. Richard Clapp and Rev. Joe Crews officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Hobby was born November 1, 1940 in Telfair County, Georgia to the late Harry Eason and Gertrude Ray Eason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, J. D. Weldon and her second husband, Orris Hobby, her grandson, Ricky Dale Johnson, her brother, Ray Eason and her sister, Carolyn Hilliard. Mrs. Hobby was a retired nurse from Tift Regional Medical Center and Heart and Hands Health Care. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially fishing with them. Mrs. Hobby loved growing ferns and flowers.

Mrs. Hobby is survived by her daughters, Harriet Weldon Felts, Leesa Weldon Best and Jeena and Joe Hester; her grandchildren, Sean and Shannon Johnson, Tara Johnson Adams, Jayla and Chris Bryant, Justin and Kimberly Griffin, Brandi and Randy Lightsey, Vince and Keri Hester and Jordan and Samantha Browning; eighteen great grandchildren.
