Mary Nell (Stripling) Pearman

July 4, 1935 — December 22, 2017

Mary Nell Stripling Pearman, 82, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chula with the Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Harmon Hannon, Buddy Talley, Lee Talley, Winfred Jones, Wayne Musselwhite, Tot Graves, Jim Day and Russ Griffin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Deloris Lunsford, Patricia Simmons, Alice Mae Waters, Linda Neloms, Beverly Pettiford and Johnny Waters.

Mrs. Pearman was born July 4, 1935 in Tift County to the late Clinton Stripling and Odell Cromer Stripling.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Frank Louis Pearman, who died April 23, 2015, and a sister, Helen Stripling Scoggins.

Mrs. Pearman attended Chula School and graduated from Tifton High School in 1953. Not only was she a homemaker, she was in her element when she was outdoors, loving to spend time on all of the farming operations. She was a partner with her husband at Frank Pearman Farms. She built many friendships and enjoyed waiting on her vegetable customers that were from Ohio to Florida. She loved to read and travel, especially to Nashville, Tennessee and Biloxi, Mississippi. Mrs. Pearman was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Chula. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and singing solos from time to time.

Mrs. Pearman is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Rhonda Pearman of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Joe Grasser of Chula; two grandchildren, Rosanna Jade Grasser McNeal and her husband Dr. Brad McNeal of Yuma, Arizona, and Ashlea Marie Pearman and her fiance'  Matthew Sheorn of Starkville, Mississippi; one sister, Peggy Stripling Lawson, Chula; one sister-in-law, Martha Jane Pearman, Chula; many nieces and nephews.

Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Building Fund, 293 Mt. Zion Church Rd., Chula, Ga., 31733 or Pruitt Health Hospice of Cordele, 708 E. 16th Ave., Cordele, Ga. 31015.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Deloris, Patricia, Alice Mae, Linda, Beverly, Johnny and Pruitt Health Hospice for their dedicated and loving care of their Mom.
