Mrs. Mary Alice Spinks Yarbrough, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
A visitation and reception in celebration of her life will be held at Salem Baptist Church on Thursday evening, February 21, 2019, from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. featuring special music with Ferol Cosper, Joni Dunn Susan Wheeler and Rev. Andy Ring.
A family burial will be held at a later date in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Andy Ring officiating.
She was born December 22, 1924, in Tifton, GA to Rolin J. Spinks and Jincy Ford Spinks both of whom preceded her in death. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, James Emmett Yarbrough who died September 12, 2008, three sisters, two brothers and one grandchild; Cory W. Bell.
She was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church where she was an active member serving in many positions over the years. She was a 1942, graduate of Tifton High School. She was retired from the UGA system in 1986, where she was employed by UGA diagnostic lab from 1958, until joining the Rural Development staff when it opened in 1971. Her home was open to all and she loved all as family.
Survivors include her daughter; Carol Yarbrough Bell of Tifton, one sister; Ferol Cosper of Tifton, great grandchildren; Andrew Bell and Alex Bell of Americus, and Katherine Bell and Lexi Bell of Statesboro, special friend Maria G. Soto and many special nieces and nephews.
