Mary “Dot” Swett, 95, of Tifton died on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the home of her son, David Swett.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 3:00p.m. in Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday before the services from 1:00p.m. to 2:30p.m. at Albritton Funeral Directors Chapel.
Mrs. Swett was born on February 4, 1922 in Worth County, Georgia to the late Morris Rooks and Sarah Walters Rooks. She was married to the late Ben Swett, Sr who died in 1986. She was a homemaker and owner of Grannie Swett’s Daycare.
Mrs. Swett was a faithful and active member of First Assembly of God Church of Tifton. She and her husband were missionaries to Jamaica for 18 years where they started a mission school, Bethel Christian School. She loved to have her family and friends close to her.
Mrs. Swett is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Darlene Swett and one daughter, Juanita Swett all of Tifton. Seven grandchildren, Jessica (Bob) Carmichael, Cameron (Max) Ledlow, Dalton (Jess) Shaw, David (Jessica) Cooper, Josh Cooper, Kayla (Derek) Blackburn, Michael (Alexandria) Connell and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
