Tifton - Mary L. Morris, 88, of Tifton died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 18th in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Earl Steffans officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Monday, July 17th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Austin Morris, Tim Morris, Glenn Doss, Jamie Bell, Colton Hamby, and Carlton Riemer.
Mrs. Morris was born on January 29, 1929 in Bulloch County to the late John H. Thompson and Mary Jane Padgett Thompson. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Willard Morris who died on December 15, 2008, her son Billy J. Morris, her sister Mae Kenney, and her six brothers, Jackie Thompson, J. C. Thompson, John Henry Thompson, Jr., Bobby Brown, Louis Brown, and James Bell.
Mrs. Morris was very talented in arts and crafts especially embroidering, crocheting, sewing, knitting and bead working. She was the matriarch of her family who was willing to help them at all times and who loved them very much. She also loved to fish and cook.
Mrs. Morris is survived by her daughter Peggy Ann and Charles Shuman, Tifton, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
