Mary Louise Alday Carter, 67, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at her residence in Poulan, Georgia. Born on March 27, 1957, in Bainbridge, Georgia, she was a shining example of dedication and love throughout her life.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Pine Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Worth County with Rev. Ken Harper officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Pine Hill Baptist Church social hall.
Mary had a distinguished career, serving as the manager of Pearly's restaurant for thirty years, where her leadership and warmth made the establishment a cherished gathering place. She was known for her nurturing spirit, which extended beyond her professional life into her family, where she created cherished memories, particularly during birthdays and holidays. Her family was her pride and joy, especially her grandchildren, with whom she shared a deep bond.
Mary attended Seminole County High School and was a dedicated member of Poulan Baptist Church, reflecting her commitment to community and faith. Those close to her remember her as someone who always prioritized family, fostering connections that brought everyone together
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Gary Franklin Carter of Poulan; her two daughters, Kimberly Carter Beckwith and her special friend Josh Adams of Poulan, and Sonya and her husband John Phillips of Sumner; her grandchildren, Colby Beckwith (Lindsey Fortson), Taylor Adkins, Carter Adkins, and Andrew Phillips; and her sister, Peggy Maples of Albany
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Wheeler Alday; her mother, Helen Polly Follin Alday; her grandchild, Karlee Beckwith; and four brothers, Joseph Alday, Charles Alday, Terry Alday, and Marvin Alday.
Mary Louise Alday Carter will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and commitment to her family and community.
