On July 19, 2023, Martha Ruth Womack Marshall Partin was called home to heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Martha Ruth will be laid to rest at Oakridge Cemetery in Tifton, GA after services at First Baptist Church of Chula on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 2:00 P.M.with Rev. Jason Loggins and Mr. Jason Womack officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Marshall, Turner Whitley, Walker Meeks, Peyton Meeks, Jess Lindsey, Kirk Law, Brodie Law, and Fischer Johns.
She was born to loving parents, Nicholas Jefferson and Ruth Lyles Womack on August 7, 1937 in Chula, GA at the Womack Red Oak Farm home. Martha Ruth, as she was known, was the youngest of ten children who have all preceded her in death. They are N.J. (Celesta) Womack, Bernard (Lucile) Womack, Lee (Frances) Womack, Buck Womack, Charles (Jo) Womack, Catherine (RJ) Livingston, Margaret (Marvin) Perry, Gloria (Pinkie) Collier, and Jesse (Emery) Pappy. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, John Partin.
Martha Ruth is survived by her five children, Ronnie (Melanie) Marshall, Todd (Diane) Marshall, Jerry Marshall, Terry (Helena) Marshall, and Nicole (Jamey) Whitley; eight grandchildren, Amanda Marshall, Kristen (Jess) Lindsey, Dawn (Kirk) Law, Katie Johns, Dustin (Amanda) Marshall, Turner Whitley, Marley Whitley, and Madisyn Marshall; nine great-grandchildren, Walker Meeks, Peyton Meeks, Kensie Law, Brodie Law, Fischer Johns, Harper Johns, Zeke Lindsey, Addie Lindsey, and Cohen Marshall.
Martha Ruth was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Chula, GA for many years and a previous member of Alapaha Baptist Church. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had many good friends and was a good friend to many. She loved visiting with her family and friends, often beating them in the card game of Hand & Foot. She was an excellent cook, loved being in a crowd, talking to people, and making new friends. Martha Ruth retired in 1999 from the City of Tifton after 23 years of service as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed working at Charles Seafood after retirement where she would see many of her friends and family.
