Mark Richard Nuzzo

Mark Richard Mario Nuzzo, 56, of Tifton passed away after a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer, on November 10, 2018 surrounded by the love of his precious family.

A Rosary will be held at Albritton Funeral Home on Monday, November 12th from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home after the Rosary. A funeral mass will be held at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13th with Father Peter Oyenugba and Father Alphonso Gutierrez officiating. Interment to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens.

Mike Gibbons, Jared Knowles, Daniel Bort, Sr., Daniel Bort, Jr., Zachary Nuzzo, Steve Edenfield and Peter Laurentz will serve as pallbearers.

Mark Nuzzo was born on July 27th 1962 in Queens, New York. He grew up on Long Island surrounded by the love of not only his nuclear family but many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He moved to Tifton with his family in the summer of 1995 and there he grew a home of his own, never meeting a stranger though 1200 miles away from everything else he had ever known. He invested most of his life for the next years in his six children, in a home full of music, love, and homemade Italian food. He met the love of his life in December 2008 and married Tina Laurentz Nuzzo on June 27th 2015, adding two more children to his big happy Italian family.

He wore many hats in his short life, husband, father, son, grandfather, volunteer firefighter, band booster, and "the computer guy".  He was a Boy Scout Leader and member of Knights of Columbus. He had an intense love for all of his grandchildren, calling them his pride and joy. He spent his last several years working for Griffin Ford.

He is preceded in death by his beloved sister Diane Repetti, his uncles Richard Dean and Peter Giordano, his aunt Lee Abbate, and cousin Rosanne Catapano. He is survived by his wife, Tina Laurentz Nuzzo alongside his parents, Ben and Jeanne Nuzzo and one brother, Steve Nuzzo. His six children: Heather Ann and Daniel Bort, Adrea Joy and Michael Gibbons, Zachary Joseph Nuzzo, Sarah Jeanne Nuzzo and Allison Parrish, Kristina Elizabeth Allen and Mark Achberger, and Samantha Lauren and Jared Knowles.  Mark had eight cherished grandchildren: Daniel Arthur Bort, Benjamin Zachary Bort, Liam Clancy Gibbons, Owen Arthur Gibbons, Maura Ann Gibbons, Conor Declan Gibbons, Ava Kate Achberger, and Kylie June Knowles.
