Mrs. Margie Banister Kirkpatrick, 85 of Tifton, died Saturday, July 31, 2021 at The Willson Hospice House in Albany.
A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating at Oakridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andy Hobbs, Chris Overstreet, Haynes Sharpe, Joe Easom, Eli Hobbs, Ethan Hobbs, Joe Drawdy, and Riley Bradley
She was born June 9, 1936 in Kennesaw as the daughter of the late Charlie Joe Banister and Mattie Waller Banister. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Brent Alton Carrington, her daughter, Cheryl Carrington Whitiker, her grandson, Joseph Tidd, her sister Betty Hutchinson, and her brother J. C. Banister.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick had lived in Tift County for seventy-three years. She was a lady of faith and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She was a wonderful provider of both food and the Word of God. Mrs. Margie was an excellent cook, loved to tell stories, sing, dance and share the love of Jesus. She was the major stabilizing force in her family. Mrs. Margie never missed an opportunity to say “I Love You.” She sang and danced her way through this earthly life.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marla and Roger Hobbs of Omega, two sons and daughters-in-law Danny and Elise Overstreet of Tifton and Robert and Chana Sharpe of Lawtey, Florida, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several stepchildren, nieces and nephews.
