Marcial Lara Godina

Mr. Marcial Lara Godina, 67, of Omega passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at his residence.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church with Father Peter Oyenugba and Father Alphonso Gutierrez officiating. Interment will follow at Omega City Cemetery. A Rosary will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Godina was born August 2, 1954 in D. Arroyo N.L., Mexico to Procolo Lara and the late Maria Magdalena Godina. Mr. Lara was a member of Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church and was an agricultural worker. He had lived in Tift County for thirty-five years. Marcial was a hard worker and provided well for his family. He had many friends and was well respected. Marcial loved animals especially chickens and horses. He enjoyed horse racing. His dog “Bean” was his special friend. He was happiest when he was around his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Godina is survived by his wife, Esther Enriquez Cruz of Omega; three daughters and son-in-law, Maria Cecilia Lara of Omega, Hortencia and Felipe Sanchez of San Antonio, Texas and Olga Lara of Omega; two sons and daughter-in-law, Antonio Lara and Rogelio and Mayra Lara all of Omega; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by six sisters and five brothers.
