Mamie Ethel Walker

Mamie Ethel Collins Walker, 87, of Tifton died April 30, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Brantley Seymore officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, May 2, 2017 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Walker's nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Walker was born on January 11, 1930 in Oak Park, Georgia to the late Andrew Lucion Collins and Mamie Lee Powell Collins. She lived most of her life in Tifton and was married to the late Aubrey Walker. Mrs. Walker was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She was also retired from Charles Spencer Elementary School as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher. Mrs. Walker loved her church and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Walker is survived by one daughter, Judy Evans of McDonough; four sons, Larry Walker and Diane of Lagrange, Darrell Walker of White House, TN, Mike Walker of Tifton, and Steve Walker and Marnie of Athens; one sister, Syble Garmon of Merritt Island, FL; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren;  four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
