Mabel Jean (Johnson) Daniels

Mrs. Mabel Jean Johnson Daniels, 94, of Tifton, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., with the Reverend Randy Hand officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Billy Steed, Bert Connel, Neil Clements, Dave Powel, Joey Woods and Tim Forkner will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Daniels was born February 1, 1925 in Tift County to the late Albert Sidney Johnson and Emma Pate Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lewis “Jake” Daniels. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and their spouses, David C. and Jennie Johnson, Herbert Henry and Dorothy Ann Johnson, James Edwin Johnson, John Wesley and Joan Johnson and Ralph Johnson; four sisters, Ella Mae Johnson, Georgia Johnson, Estelle Johnson and Marie Johnson.

Mrs. Daniels was the last living charter member of Trinity Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to church, reading the Bible and visiting people in nursing homes.  She was a bookkeeper for several businesses, and was meticulous in all she did. Mrs. Daniels was a supporter of The Georgia Sheriff’s Boys’ Ranch.

She is survived by five sisters-in-law, Joyce Johnson, Inez McBrayer, Bobbie Terrell, and Zona Bell Selph, all of Tifton, and Jessie Daniels of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
