Lynell A. Norton

Mrs. Lynell A. Norton, 69, of Tifton passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Eastside Baptist Church of Tifton with Rev. Keith Norris officiating. Eulogy will be given by Renee Rutland and Barbara Hollingsworth. A private interment will be held following the service at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Stacy Aultman, Jimmy Castleberry, Jerry Hobbs, Willis Marchant, Wes Shannon and Mike O'Hara will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Norton was born March 4, 1950 in Grady County to Mrs. Alene Hopkins Anderson and the late James Edgar Anderson. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Morris Anderson. Mrs. Norton was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Tifton and was retired from the Tift County Board of Education as a paraprofessional at G. O. Bailey Elementary School. Nell loved her Lord, her church, her family and especially her two grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, reading and collecting dolls.

Mrs. Norton is survived by her husband, Tommy Norton of Tifton, to whom she was married for fifty years; one son, Scott Norton of Alpharetta; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Chip Rutland of Warner Robins; granddaughter, Analeece Rutland and grandson, Zachary Rutland.
