Lynda Ruth Miller Scarborough, born on November 24, 1940 in Geneva County, Alabama, peacefully departed this life on December 27, 2024, at her residence in Tifton, Georgia. She was 84 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 29, 2024 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Roger Mays and Rev. Ronnie Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Global Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.
A dedicated professional, Lynda retired from the State of Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, where she served as a secretary. She cherished her work and the relationships she built during her career. An accomplished individual, she graduated from High School and later obtained a Secretarial Degree from Atlanta Business School, reflecting her commitment to her education and career.
Lynda was an active member of the community and a proud member of Mt. Calvary Global Methodist Church, where she participated in the Methodist Women’s Group. Her faith and devotion to her church were integral parts of her life.
Lynda's love for her family was evident in all aspects of her life. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Debbie Scarborough of Tifton and Russell and Connie Scarborough of Waterloo, along with her beloved grandsons, Jimmy Scarborough and Damion Scarborough. These relationships brought her great joy, and she treasured spending time with each of them, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Lynda found immense happiness in going to church and traveling with her friends. Her zest for life included exploring new places and enjoying the company of those she loved.
Lynda is preceded in death by her husband, Dan H. Scarborough, who passed away on May 24, 2014; her grandson, Jake Scarborough; as well as her father, Oyer Levy Miller, and her mother, Mary Eva Wilkes Miller.
