Linnie Iris Cone

March 14, 1949 — August 8, 2024

Tifton, Georgia

Linnie Iris Cone, 75, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love and warmth of those who cherished and loved her, August 8, 2024.

She was born on March 14, 1949, in Berrien County, Georgia to the late Jessie Daniel Baker and Edith Inez Harrell Baker. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her garden, planting flowers, and playing on her computer.

Linnie’s greatest accomplishment was influencing her children and grandchildren to love the Lord and to love others. Her door was always open and she welcomed any chance to visit. She never met anyone she couldn’t talk to and was known for always taking a long time to say goodbye to those she loved especially at family functions. She was a strong woman who fought for her family and made sure that every decision she made was the best for her family.

Linnie was known to be a prayer warrior who was always on her knees praying for her family and was the first one they called when they needed prayer. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness who left a lasting impact on everyone whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her children: Jill Roy of Jacksonville, Florida, Terri Bennett of Tifton, Georgia, and Kimberly Cone of Tifton, Georgia, her grandchildren, Jessica Smart (Kevin), Justine Castranova (Cody), James Roy (Chelsie), and Daniel Bennett (Missouri), along with her great-grandchildren, Will, Maggie, Colten, Anibella, Braelynn, Charlotte, Emma, Noah, and Raven, will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Linnie's sister, Montoya Copper of Acworth, mourns her passing and holds dear the memories they shared.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, James "Junior" Cyrus Cone, who passed away on April 23, 1999; her sisters, Blondean Porter and Betty Lawhorn, and her sons-in-law, Dave Bennett and Rick Roy.

Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Tift Area, PO Box 747, Tifton, Ga. 31793.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Albritton Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
