Mr. Carr was born in Tifton, GA, January 23, 1947. He resided in the Macon area for many years before moving to the Gray area in 1987. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Gray and was a faithful member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Mr. Carr was a graduate of Willingham High School and also attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, ABAC, until his enlistment in the United States Marine Corps (Vietnam era). He later served in the Air Force National Guard.

Law Enforcement was Mr. Carr’s entire career serving at, Lenox, GA Police Department; Cook County Sherriff’s Office; Macon Police Department (Officer of the Year in 1983); Mercer Police Department; Director of Security for Macon Hilton; and retiring from the Georgia State Patrol. He was also a master locksmith. Being an avid softball player, he pitched for the Macon Police Department and other teams (in and out of state tournaments). He was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, flea-marketing, and traveling. Everyone knew him as a good guy who never bothered anyone. His fun-loving personality brought a smile to everyone’s face, especially the ladies. His wife, Faye, fondly called him Mr. Entertainment. He was a member of the local Fraternal Order of Police, Peace Officers Association of Georgia, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He proudly served as a past President, and was currently a Board Member of the Retired Georgia State Troopers and Retired GBI Agents Association. He enjoyed meeting and eating with his Milledgeville Law Enforcement buddies, his Dairy Queen breakfast buddies, his Thursday night “gang”, his Marine reunions, as well as attending many of his wife’s functions.
