Katherine Lindsey Webb

Katherine Lindsey Webb, 91, of Tifton, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the time of her death.

The family will receive friends at Salem Baptist Church on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Mrs. Webb’s funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Andy Ring and Pastor Ashley Roig officiating. Burial will follow immediately afterward at Oakridge Cemetery. 

Her grandsons, Jason Webb, James Webb, Matt Webb, Josh Webb, Jonathan Webb, Jeffrey Matthews, Darrell Webb and Zach Webb will serve as pallbearers.

Katherine was born on January 13, 1933, to William Wright Lindsey and Georgia Hall Lindsey in Colquitt County. She was one of five children. Katherine married the love of her life, Hugh Webb, on June 28, 1952. Together they built a wonderful life and had five sons; Bill, David, Mally, John, and Gene Webb. What started as a family of two, multiplied into a family of sixty-two!

Katherine was a woman of faith and an active member of Salem Baptist Church. She always took the time to tell others about her love for God and His love for them. Katherine found pleasure in participating in the church choir. She served in various roles throughout the years, helping wherever she could.

Katherine was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm they shared. She had many hobbies and interests. She loved spending time with her family every chance she got, but holidays were a favorite of hers. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her yard when she could. She was also dedicated to creating crafts and loved making books to send to her pen-pals. Katherine was also a wonderful baker; at one time she owned a cake shop, Creative Crafts and Confectionery. Katherine volunteered at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture, formerly known as the Georgia Agrirama, and taught quilting classes and flower arranging to their many visitors.

Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, William Wright Lindsey and Georgia Hall Lindsey; her beloved husband, Hugh Webb; her son, David Hugh Webb; her sister Martha Jane Shannon, her brother James Lindsey, her daughter-in-law, Shirley Webb, and her grandson Luke Carter.

She most notably left behind a legacy of service to the Lord. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; William “Bill” Webb, DeeAnn Webb, Mally Webb (Sheila Webb), John Webb (Sybil Webb), and Gene Webb (Mary Grace Webb). Grandchildren; Jason Webb, Amanda Webb, Matthew “Matt” Webb, Katherine “Kate” Webb Gray (Clay Gray), James Webb (Raquel Webb), Josh Webb (Adriane Webb), Lacy Webb Cargle (Adam Cargle), Marcy Webb Spurlin, Jeffery Matthews (Krystal Matthews), Jonathan Webb (Barb Webb), Darrell Webb, Zack Webb (Dinah Webb), and Tonya Webb Marchant (Ryan Marchant). Great grandchildren; Hunter Webb, Hayden Webb, Piper Webb, Brooke Webb, Ale Webb, Jay Webb, Elena Grace Webb, Sawyer Gray, Sara Gray, Silas Gray, Jordanna Gray, Delaney Gray, Naomi Gray, Samuel Gray, Belle Webb, Cassie Webb, Emma Cargle, Ella Cargle, Gatlin Spurlin, Kameron Matthews, Kayden Matthews, Mallory Matthews, Bryson Webb, Miller Webb, Oliviah Webb, Ava Webb, Grant Webb, Huxley Marchant. She is survived by her sister, Edna and Bill Willis of Omega, and one brother Jack and Julie Lindsey of York Pennsylvania.
