June Evelyn Busbin Sumner, 86, of Chula passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 4:00p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Perrin and Rev. Cory Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 21 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Grandsons and Great Grandson will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Sumner was born on March 7, 1931 in Irwin County to the late Wiley Johnson Busbin and Omeda Morehead Busbin. She was a homemaker who was married to J. E. Sumner, Jr., for 68 years and a 1948 graduate of Tifton High School. She was a very active member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she participated in the Ladies Church Auxiliary.  In the Chula community, she was a member of the 5-C Club and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter of Tifton. She loved to cook, fish and spend time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sumner is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie D. and Becky Sumner of Chula, Ga; two daughters and son-in-law, Jane and Gary Farmer of Carnesville, Ga and Kathy Moran of Liberty County, Ga; eight grandchildren, Hank and Amy Sumner, Clark and Ashley Sumner, Gay and Rodney Chandler, Kay and David Burton, David and Sarah Farmer, Dustin and Vanesa Farmer, Johnna and Bryan Bridges, John David and Teri Johnson; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; three brothers, Arthur and Gayle Busbin of Locust Grove, Ga, Charles Busbin of Blue Ridge, Ga and Wiley and Betty Busbin of Douglasville, Ga; one brother-in-law, Bobby Phelps.

Mrs. Sumner was preceded in death by two sisters, Billie Welsh and Barbara Phelps.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, c/o Pam Haire, 1229 Waterloo Hwy, Chula, Ga 31733 and Hospice of Tift Area, 618 N Central Ave., Tifton, Ga 31794.
