June (Giddens) Boyette

April 21, 1934 — September 5, 2023

Mrs. June Giddens Boyette, 89, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Southern Oaks Assisted Living Center of Tifton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. John Evans Patten and Mr. Pepper Thomoson officiating. Interment will be held at Beaver Dam Cemetery on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 4:00 P.M.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Russ Shaw, Corey Keeter, Josh Pope, Jordan Pope, Chris Cutts, Mike Davis, Allen Peugh and Bob Rippy will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Boyette was born April 21, 1934 in Lanier County to the late Madison Chandler Giddens and Cleo Thompson Giddens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gilbert Boyette who died May 9, 2019, her brother and sister-in-law, Chandler Giddens, Jr., his wife Mary Alice Studstill Giddens and their son, her nephew, Joe Mack Giddens along with her step-mother, Nell Chisholm Giddens and her brother-in-law, Raymond Johnson and her great grandson, Ezra Francis.

Mrs. Boyette was a graduate of Lanier County High School and was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Tifton. She was owner of Red Bird Western Union for many years and office manager for T. W. Tift Company for nineteen years. Mrs. Boyette was Sunday School Teacher for seven years for sixth grade and she started children’s church and taught it for many years. She was an excellent homemaker who always cared deeply for her family and she was a very good and loving Mother.

Mrs. Boyette is survived by her two daughters, Marsha Boyette of Brunswick and Linda Boyette and Edd Powell of Omega; one son, Marc Boyette of Destin, Florida;  grandchildren, Bess and Mike Pooler, Meg and Blake Moore, Taylor and Aaron Francis, Madison and Nathaniel Ritter,  Elijah and Jillian Boyette, Ethan Boyette, Lee and Jessica Powell and Chris and Jackie Powell; great grandchildren, Parker Pooler, Emma Pooler, Nehemiah Francis, Nora Francis, Aida Francis, Josiah Francis, Tirza Ritter, Sumner Powell, Mary Bella Powell, Cadence Powell, Reid Powell and Wesley Moore; one sister, Ann Giddens Johnson of Waycross. Also, several nieces and nephews.

Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church of Tifton, 4605 Murray Ave., Tifton, Ga. 31794 or Hospice of Tift Area, P. O. Box 747, Tifton, GA. 31793.
