Juan Lopez Chavez

Juan Lopez Chavez. 67, a dedicated farm laborer for Carter Burguss Land Surveyor, touched the hearts of those around him with his hard work and kind spirit. He was born on June 24, 1956, in Comonfort Gto, Mexico, and tragically passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Piedmont HealthCare in Macon, Georgia.

Juan was a family man through and through. He held a deep love for his wife, Azucena Rios Palma, and his children, Miguel Angel Lopez Ray of Mexico, Maria Patricia Arteaga, and Sonia Ann Lopez Ray both of Tifton. The joy of his life came from spending time with his seven grandchildren: Tadeo Perez, Jose Arteaga, Angel Lopez, Jackelin Arteaga, Jannely Arteaga, Lesly Ramirez, and Xitlaly Lopez. Their laughter filled his heart and brought him immense happiness.

Besides being deeply devoted to his family, Juan had a passion for cooking and grilling. He delighted in preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together to share in the joy of good food and cherished moments. His culinary skills were unmatched as he added love and warmth to every dish he created.

Additionally, Juan found solace working in his vegetable garden. He possessed a green thumb and took great pride in nurturing the earth's gifts. 

Among those who preceded Juan in death are his father, Asuncion Lopez Mota, his mother, Maria Chavez Flores, his brother, Alberto Lopez Chavez, and two sisters, Sara Lopez Chavez and Nicolasa Lopez Chavez. 

He is survived by his wife, children, and siblings. Azucena Rios Palma, Miguel Angel Lopez Ray of Mexico, Maria Patricia Arteaga, Sonia Ann Lopez Ray of Tifton; Benjamin Lopez Chavez and Alfredo Lopez Chavez both of Tifton; and Hermelinda Lopez Chavez of Mexico. 

A visitation held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Albritton Funeral Directors from 9:00 to 9:45 A.M.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church of Tifton with Father Paulinus Okpala. 

Jesus Lopez, Jose Arteaga, Oscar Lopez, Alfredo Lopez Chavez and Benjamin Lopez Chavez will serve as pallbearers.
