Joe Emery Womack

Mr. Joe Emery Womack, 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Joe Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, August 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Joel Womack, Jerry Bennett, Shawn Stovall, T. J. Norman, Preston Asmar and Peyton Cowart will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Womack was born December 13, 1945 in Tift County to the late James Bernard Womack, Sr., and Millie Lucille Jones Womack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Pearman and Shirley Cash; two brothers, Lemmie Womack and James B. Womack, Jr.  Mr. Womack was a retired Insurance Appraiser and was the Body Shop Manager for Prince Chevrolet for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Womack had lived in Tift County all of his life where he attended the Chula School and graduated in 1964 from Tift County High School. He loved to fish and work on race cars. He especially enjoyed going to the mountains.

Mr. Womack is survived by his wife, Marie Samaha Asmar Womack of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jo and Roger Stone, Sonia and Shannon Cowart, Whitney and Chris Huggins all of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Jameica Womack of Tifton; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Sharbel and Jessica Asmar of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; six step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law Emmett and Annette Womack of Chula; one sister-in-law Vivian Womack of Chula; many nieces and nephews.
