Jimmy Randall Tyson

Mr. Jimmy Randall Tyson, 82, of Tifton, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Maple Court Assisted Living Center in Tifton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, February 5, 2023 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Eric Tyson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. Mark Myers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Caleb Tyson, Ryan Moore, Don Tyson, Joey Biechy, Jacob Fortner and Sam Roach will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be BOCH Sunday School Class, Retired Postal Workers, Traditions Hospice and Maple Court Staff.

Mr. Tyson was born June 9, 1940 in Tift County to the late Buford B. Tyson, Sr. and Evelyn Cravey Tyson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randall Tyson; three brothers, B.B. Tyson, Jr., Wilbur Tyson and Donald W. Tyson. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tifton. Mr. Tyson was a farmer and retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural postal carrier for thirty years. Jimmy loved to work and watch westerns. Mr. Tyson loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Tyson is survived by his wife, Wilma McBrayer Tyson of Tifton; his daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Steve Moore of Tifton; his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lori Tyson of Commerce, Ga; his grandchildren, Hope and Jacob Fortner, Ryan and Julee Beth Moore, Heather and Joey Biechy, Caleb and Haley Tyson and Erica and Sam Roach; his great grandchildren, Fox Fortner, Caroline Fortner, Maggie Sue Moore, Georgia Moore and Dallas Tyson; three sisters and brother-in-law, Eileen Brogdon, Dixie Towery and Barbara and Doug Newsome.
