Mr. Jimmy Max Puckett, 79 of Tifton, died Friday, October 5, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Eidson, Rev. Gerald Purvis, and Rev. Debbie Cone officiating. The interment will follow with military honors at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
The pallbearers are, Cory Jones, Trenton Jones, Albert Coburn, Royce McBrayer, Bill Rippy and Graham Keen.
Mr. Puckett was born March 1, 1939, in Cartersville, GA. He was the son of the late Joseph Puckett and Margerite James Puckett. He was also preceded in death by his sister Myrna Westmoreland and his wife of over fifty years, Joyce Ann Fioravanti Puckett, who died May 17, 2013. Mr. Puckett retired from the United States Army after serving for twenty-four years. He also served during the Vietnam War. After retirement from the Army, he was employed with the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He was an active member of Victory Baptist Church and enjoyed The Friday Bible Study. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. His hobbies were fishing, reading, riding his Harley motorcycle and smoking his tobacco pipe.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Susan and David Keen of Abbeville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Deanne Puckett of Pflugerville, TX and Gary Joseph Puckett of Nolanville, TX; one sister and brother-in-law Nina and James Turner of Rome and two brothers and sister-in-law, Danny and Sheri Carver of Rome and Wendell Carver of Rome.
